Welcome back to the journal library… and a podcast (of sorts).
When I started this last week, I wanted to record some audio to go with it, but the heavy cold I caught had other plans (anyone who was “lucky enough” to hear me attempt to record voice notes last week, knows what I’m talking about).
But we are good to go today.
Over the last two years, I’ve hosted private and public journalling workshops, and I’ve known for some time that I’ve wanted to resume the public ones, but in a different format. Something that was accessible to you at a time that suits you, matched my energy, but still felt like me. Enter podcast 2.0 (oh yeah, I used to have one of those). A podcast, voice note-mash-up that I hope it feels like a warm and cosy moment. A few of my words, and then some of yours own.
Maybe you just want to listen to the voice note and come back for the reflection. Perhaps on reading this, you know exactly when you’ll carve out a little space for your thoughts and go back and mark the email as unread to for later (just me?). Or, you might home straight in on a prompt before pressing play and take it to your journal without wanting to hear anyone else’s voice or interpretation. Go right ahead. I guide, you lead.
Below, are the prompts and things I’ve been thinking about with timestamps if you don’t fancy listening to the whole thing, followed by ten minutes of space for something I might have mentioned, or simply, whatever is on your mind. This is your space.
I’ll see you in a week or a fortnight’s time - I’m not quite decided yet - with more. Creatively, this feels exciting and it feels so good to say that again.
Take care,
Sasha
Questions I’ve been asking myself this week:
[03:48] What do you sense are the broad strokes of your year?
[05:19] Are you in a doing season or a being season?
[07:45] Where do I just need to make a decision?
[09:58] What are the things you did that told you your answer or decision about a thing before you said it out loud or made it known?
[10:52] Bonus: If you didn't have to write it down, what would you say?
[13:17] Just some space to write please - no talking!
If you enjoyed taking this space, there are a few ways you can support my work. You could share with someone you think might take value, ensure you get the next addition to The Journal Library by subscribing or buy me a coffee to support the space and keep the words coming.
I’d love to know how you found the format and this first iteration. If you received this as an email, you can reply to that or leave a comment below.
Also mentioned in this post:
And I’ll add iteration 1.0 of my podcast, This Is Your RemindHer. I’m big on reminders and revisiting words and ideas more than once. Have a look, you might find something that’s just what you need to hear right now.
Love this, looking forward to listening later with my journal open.
I just love how your mind works. I love your musings and listening to your calm voice as you share your thoughts. I have revisited your podcast episodes and it remains a favorite of mine. The episodes are timeless and gently thought provoking. I look forward to whatever you do next.
